Building of the passenger terminal at the Tuzla Airport will be upgraded and reconstructed. This project was created out of need for creation of conditions for the needs of passengers who use the services of this airport, and because of the introduction of new destinations and increased frequency of passengers.
Acting director for development and marketing of the Tuzla International Airport Enver Jukanović says that, given that the second base plane of Wizz Air will be positioned on the Airport Tuzla as of March next year and that new destinations will be introduced, it is estimated that the existing capacities cannot adequately accept the passengers so the expansion project was necessary.
The project is worth around four million BAM and, in addition to personal financing, the funds are expected from the Government of the Tuzla Canton and the Government of FBiH.
“We expect the implementation of the project to be completed by the end of March,” said Jukanović.
Three new flights are announced from this airport by the end of the year. Flights to London will begin tomorrow and to Billund (Denmark) on October 31. Flights for Berlin will be introduced on December 17.
Flights will be conducted twice a week, on Wednesday and Sundays for London Luton, on Mondays and Fridays for Billund and on Tuesdays and Saturdays for Berlin-Schoenefeld.
Wizz Air announced that they will base another “airbus A320” plane in their base in Tuzla. As of March 2017, this airline will provide its services from Tuzla to Cologne, Friedrichschafen and Nuremberg in Germany, Bratislava in Slovakia and Vaxjo in Sweden.
The new plane will enable Wizz Air to increase the number of weekly flights on existing routes from Tuzla to Eindhoven, Gothenburh, Malmo and Frankfurt Hahn.
