Niksic: Deputies of DF and the Greens will not vote for the Opposition in the RS

After talks in the SDP between representatives of the Movement for the State and the opposition in Republika Srpska (RS), Nermin Niksic spoke about the election of delegates to the House of Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), saying that the final decision of the SDP will be announced, but that it has not yet been made.

However, Niksic announced in his own words what the decision would be, namely that the SDP’s two deputies would not vote for the opposition if the Eight (Osmorka) failed to reach an agreement with the HDZ regarding the expulsion of the SNSD from the BiH Council of Ministers.

“We will have more talks these days and we will make a decision by Wednesday. When it comes to the Movement for the State, I believe that we have no right to betray those people who made such an effort in this campaign, created and got such an election result, so now that we exclude them and we say ‘you have to regardless of the consequences’… I will try to talk a little these days with our partners from Eight and the HDZ to see if there is a possibility to create a Council of Ministers without the SNSD. If that option is not possible, then it becomes counterproductive to burn these people and their views and what they want. Especially since they have an offer of participation in the executive power on the table,” noted Niksic yesterday.

Apart from that, he told “We still have our dilemmas, but we will make our decision, announce it on time and bear the burden of that decision”, and they will bear the burden only if they do not decide to help the opposition to get another delegate in the House of Peoples of BiH, that is, if they do not help them to prevent SNSD from getting the fourth delegate.

Niksic clarified the views of the other representatives of the Movement for the State, who are members of SDA, DF and the BiH Greens.

“I don’t want to make any false promises when it comes to the five representatives of the Movement for the State, you know that the representative of the SDA stepped forward. I had a conversation with the remaining two, the representatives of the DF and the Greens, who are exclusive and guarantee that there is no possibility for them to change their decisions and vote for the opposition parties in the RS. What we are talking about and what is possibly on the table and what may be a decision of the SDP is voting from our ranks. Those two SDP representatives are very clear in their views that will respect the decisions of the SDP authorities, whatever they may be,” said Niksic.

The SDA previously said that Dodik should not be allowed to have a fourth delegate, but they did not specify whether their candidate would vote for the opposition or for Vojin Mijatovic, the Movement for the State candidate, which is a big difference.

“Last time, they voted for the SNSD to have four mandates. The situation is a little easier here. Just voting for our list gives Dodik four delegates. You don’t have to vote for him, but if you vote for us, you are helping him,” Niksic pointed out.

He also states that during the meeting, the opposition from the RS maintained its position that it would not support SDP’s candidate Vojin Mijatovic at any cost, in which Nebojsa Vukanovic was probably the loudest, who was explicit that Vojin Mijatovic and Milorad Dodik mean the same thing in political way, Klix.ba reports.
