Deputies of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska adopted on Thursday the decision to lift the state of emergency for the territory of that Bosnian entity.

At a special session, after almost two days of heated debate, 60 deputies voted in favor of lifting the state of emergency, which has been in force since the beginning of April, Vijesti.ba news portal reports.

In his closing remarks, Entity Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic said the state of emergency had been lifted given the current more favorable epidemiological situation due to coronavirus infection.

“The state of emergency remains in force,”- said the entity prime minister and announced that the ban on movement from 10 pm to 5 am, ie curfew in RS, will be lifted tomorrow.

He noted that all this does not mean that citizens should not adhere to hygienic-epidemiological measures, distance physics and protective masks, because the virus is still present in the community.

“The situation is not as it was on March 10 this year. I hope that RS has gone through the worst,” said Viskovic and added that this Bosnian entity acts in accordance with the recommendations of the competent profession.
