Prime Minister of the FBiH Fadil Novalic and the Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry of FBiH Nermin Dzindic held a meeting yesterday at the headquarters of the Government of FBiH in Sarajevo with the directors of the mines that are operating within Concern Elektroprivreda BiH, General Director of Elektroprivreda BiH Ltd Sarajevo Bajazit Jasarevic, the Executive Director for manufacturing Nevad Ikanovic and members of the Confederation of Unions of workers of mines of FBiH headed by President Sinan Husic.
At the meeting, which was held on the initiative of trade unions, representatives of Elektroprivreda presented information on the operations of seven depending unions of mine workers from EPBiH. They considered the realization of the basic indicators of coal mines in the past and earlier this year individually and in total, with comparative numbers for the year of 2015.
They noted that the realized production of coal in the year of 2016 is 9.81 % higher in comparison to the production in 2015. Works at the waste rock, which are a condition for the realization of the production of coal in surface mines was increased by 38.63 % in 2016, in comparison to 2015, and the preparatory work in the pits, which is a condition for the achievement of coal production in the pits, by 16,09 %. The production price of coal in 2016 was decreased by 13.27 % in comparison to last year.
The total income achieved in 2016 was increased by 6.78 %, while costs and expenses for the last year decreased by 6.49 %. In comparison to 2015, the total loss in the past year was decreased by 41.74 % and it amounts to 62.716 million BAM.
On the meeting was concluded that it is visible that effort was made in 2016 and the decline in production in the mines was stopped, but they still need to work a lot in order to improve their operations, reduce losses, increase safety on work and accelerate investments.
Federal Prime Minister Fadil Novalic and relevant Minister Nermin Dzindic stated again this time that the Government of FBiH will remain committed to solve the situation in the mines, as announced by the Office of Public Relations of the Government of FBiH.
