Number of Children born in Republika Srpska decreased

Republika Srpska (RS), one of the entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has ended the last year with lower birth rate.

In the fourth trimester of 2018, a significantly lesser number of children were born, compared to the number of deaths.

Data from the Bureau of Statistics show that 3,613 deaths and 2,416 were recorded.

However, the number of births is higher than in the same period of 2017, when 2,286 newborns were registered.

On the other side, the number of deceased persons is higher than in the same period of 2017, when 3,486 deaths were registered.

The number of registered marriages is lower in the last quarter of the year compared to the same period of 2017, while the number of registered divorced marriages is higher.

The statisticians also indicated that more displaced population was recorded in the same period.
