Nvidia’s founder and CEO, billionaire Jensen Huang, one of the richest people in the world with a net worth of nearly a billion dollars, is one of the most qualified to comment on the future his company is helping to build.
He was one of the main guests at the World Government Summit in Dubai, which ended a few days ago.
At the event, he spoke about the future of the world in the new AI reality, that is, about the impact that artificial intelligence will have on careers in the future.
Jensen believes that the mantra of learning to code or teaching children programming, and building a career in computer science, which has been dominant in the past 10 to 15 years, “no longer holds water.”
While computer science and programming were once highly sought-after skills, Huang believes that people should now shift their focus to other areas of knowledge such as biology, chemistry, or finance.
“Our job is to create computer technology in such a way that no one will need to program anymore, that is, for a programming language to become human. Everyone in the world is a programmer today. That’s the miracle of artificial intelligence,” said Huang at the World Government Summit in Dubai.
He added that the future of human work lies in expertise, recognizing and solving challenges in areas such as manufacturing, agriculture, construction, and education, using autonomous intelligent technology without the need to spend months or years developing the necessary software.
Therefore, it makes much more sense to specialize in a particular industry or profession to understand the problems or possible ways of future improvement, so that you can then know what to expect from AI, Huang believes.
