Park in Halilovici oslobodjenje.baIn the Halilovici settlement, at the place of the former military barracks Safet Zajko, hidden from the view is a complex covering eleven hectares of area on which the Municipality Novi Grad is building the largest park in Sarajevo.

The works on this area which, according to the contractors, looked like a jungle are in full swing, given that the opening of the park is scheduled for September 21st, and the Mayor Semir Efendic presented all the completed and planned amenities of this green oasis next to the Miljacka River to the journalists today.

The newly constructed bridge from the direction of Nedzarici is leading to a completely modern park and sports-recreational complex which lack in Sarajevo.

This complex with grown greenery, which is its biggest treasure, was given to the Municipality for use by the Government of FB&H with the aim of forming a Center for education, sports and recreation.

Around 45 percent of amenities have been constructed in this Center so far, including the football field with artificial track, tartan track with the area for long jump training, children’s playgrounds, a field for volleyball on the sand, basketball court, locker rooms, and outdoor fitness devices. In the central part are the fountain, gazebo and a summer stage around which summer gardens for refreshing of the visitors will be placed.

The center for martial arts is nearly completed, and the spaces of the educational center will be equipped afterwards.

The enterprise Lokom will manage the Center, and until now a million and a half BAM were invested in its construction in two budget years.
