Official: Kosovo Introduces Visas for B&H Citizens

pasosAt yesterday’s session, the government of Kosovo adopted a proposal to implement visas for citizens of B&H, which was confirmed by Enver Hodža, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo.

‘’After B&H did not abolish visas for our citizens, the government of Kosovo has adopted a reciprocal decision and introduced visas for B&H citizens’’, he wrote on his Twitter profile.

The government of Kosovo decided in December 2013 to introduce visas for nationals of countries that did not recognize Kosovo’s independence. Apart from Serbia, B&H is the only country in the region that did not recognize the independence of Kosovo and establish diplomatic relations with the country.

Citizens with a Kosovo passport need a visa to enter B&H, which is an obstacle for many citizens of Kosovo to visit their friends and family in B&H.

Some B&H politicians warned that the introduction of visas for B&H citizens for Kosovo could be reflected in the trade relations between B&H and Kosovo.
