Almost half of consumers in B&H use cards, and 90% of them is satisfied with that way of paying. The research was conducted in April and May by the International research agency Masmi, in which 650 respondents participated.

“When it comes to managing of a personal budget, half of respondents said that they would never save money only on food, but around 30% of them would equally reduce costs in several categories such as shopping, utilities, education, including the food as well“, said the leader of the project in the Agency Masmi, Sandra Panic.

Overall, 80% buy food and drinks in supermarkets and hypermarkets, while 57% of them buy in smaller shops. Specialized shops and boutiques attract more than 60% of consumers, while 53% decide for the shopping in shopping malls, and only 8% buy clothes and shpes in outlet centers.

The research has shown that the online shopping is still not so popular in B&H, and 73% of those who buy online, do it two to three times per year, and sometimes more often. They buy clothes and shoes the most (71%), technical equipment (31%) while 11% of consumers reserve accommodation and transport while travelling, and the same percent pay utilities.

Men buy technical equipment more often  than women (47% compared to 12%). As the main benefits of the online shopping, respondents stated the availability of brands they cannot find in the country, greater choice and money savings.
