13106503_1764218817148128_1870269428_oCloudy weather and rain spoiled the mood for celebration of the International Worker’s Day, so only few walkers were seen on the picnic sites around Sarajevo.

There was not a lot of visitors on Trebevic, and most of them just walked in the nature. There was more people on Vrelo Bosne (Spring of Bosna River), but still unusually few for this holiday.

Barbecue was prohibited on Vrelo Bosne, while on Bijambare, Skakavac and Trebevic it was allowed, but with prior registration. This meant grilling on barbecues that are lifted from the ground with mandatory registration with the supervisory agency for nature protection. Besides reporting, visitors had to have a bag in which they had to pick up the trash and the water to turn off the remains of firewood they used for grilling.

With the almost empty streets of the city, some people gathered in Wilson’s promenade, where representatives of the Cantonal organizations of Social Democratic Party (SDP) organized the 1st of May gathering, which was dedicated to workers and their rights.

President of the Forum of trade union activists KO SDP BiH Sarajevo, Avdo Hodzic, said that, despite the bad weather conditions, with the traditional beans, they talked with citizens about the situation of the working class and proposals for solving their problems.
