osceThe OSCE Mission to BIH signed an agreement yesterday with the associations of municipalities and cities of the FBIH and the RS on partnership that would strengthen cooperation of the association of municipalities and cities with assemblies of municipalities and municipal councils, as well as intensify inter-agency cooperation in the country.

The association of municipalities and cities are bodies that represent a platform for the exchange of knowledge and best practices between local governments and lobbying for the establishment of municipal interest at higher levels of government.

The OSCE Mission has a long-standing cooperation with associations of municipalities and cities. In accordance with their key strategic priorities, to represent and advocate the interests of local government, the OSCE Mission continues to work with associations of municipalities and cities in lending support and services to representative organs at the local level.

The areas of cooperation that are specified in the partnership agreements have been established together with the associations of municipalities and cities and other institutions in BiH. This initiative is a part of the OSCE thematic program devoted to local administration, within which to consolidate the achievements in good governance in the country, announced the OSCE.
