ergenc 2014Turkish actor Halit Ergenc was welcomed yesterday evening at the red carpet with standing ovations of the thrilled crowd.

This actor, most known to our audience by his leading role in the TV series “Sulejman the Magnificent” said that this role has not change him a bit and that it was a great engagement which attracted many people from numerous countries and it represents honor for him.

Ergenc arrived to Sarajevo two days ago and he was very happy to share with us “that he ate a really good burek”.

“Still, the best thing here is the hospitality. People are incredible. I feel like at home. The food is good, but the people are just great” – said the Turkish actor for the BHT cameras.

Vjekoslava and Tonči Huljić, famous Croatian couple working in the music industry also walked along the red carpet yesterday evening.

Tonči said that he came to Sarajevo to promote his short documentary “The life of Tonte or God, food and drinks” which is a certain publicity of his new CD “Panics”.

“I believe we will have a good and fun time” – said the Croatian musician who currently works on, as he stated, building his own and the carrier of his colleague Petar Grašo. His wife Vjekoslava, who is in Sarajevo for the first time, said she is having a great time and that she is excited to be a part of SFF. She considers Sarajevo to be a very inspiring town and also revealed that she is about to finish her book and that she is “always working on a new text.”

The president of the jury of the Competition program Bela Tarr, who moved to Sarajevo couple of years ago, said that the jury has a chance to see the works of young movie makers.

“Our expectations are very simple, you know. The young have to find a way to hit us somehow, to show us their anger, vision, desires and everything that belongs to their age so we expect honest films” – said Tarr.

Regarding the question if SFF completed its mission in this 20 years, he answered: “Definitively! I know this festival from the start and every time I was invited I came and wished all the best. I don’t have the reason to wish all the best anymore because the festival is now established and I really hope the people love them because they depend on people.”

The member of the jury Chris Dercon for who we heard that he represents in the museum world the same thing as Angelina Jolie in the movie world, said that he watched some “absolutely incredible films” and that the “east European movie is rising”.

The team from the movie “Three windows and the hanging” coming from Kosovo also walked along the red carpet.
