Over 43.000 Residents of Sarajevo are fully vaccinated

Long queues of those who want to be vaccinated against coronavirus have already formed in front of Zetra Hall.

This was expected because today is the fourth day of immunization for which it is not necessary to apply.

Earlier this week, the cantonal government announced that vaccination would begin today, for which it is not necessary to apply. Citizens will only be able to be vaccinated with AstraZeneca vaccines.

As stated, 4,000 doses of vaccines from the mentioned manufacturer will be available today and in the next two days. All persons over the age of 18 living in the Sarajevo Canton can be immunized.

Immunization will be carried out from 8 am to 8 pm, and the authorities have pointed out to interested citizens that they do not have to come immediately in the morning so as not to create crowds. So far, only the most health-endangered categories of the population have been vaccinated, Klix.ba writes.

105,989 people were registered in the Sarajevo Canton who received one dose of the vaccine, and 43,904 were fully vaccinated, Klix.ba has learned.

It should be noted that those who live in the Sarajevo Canton, but were vaccinated in Serbia or elsewhere, and then applied to the Health Insurance Institute in Sarajevo to be in the domestic system, also have a share in these data.

Therefore, according to the above data, 25 percent of the population of Sarajevo Canton was immunized with one dose, and only 10.4 percent with both doses.

This number also includes citizens who were vaccinated in the Sarajevo Canton and persons who were vaccinated outside the borders of BiH, and who reported that vaccination from abroad through the platform of the Health Insurance Institute.

As Klix.ba finds out, the total number so far is close to 9,000 applicants who were vaccinated outside the Sarajevo Canton, but there is also a large number of those who have not yet reported to the Health Insurance Institute after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine in Serbia, Croatia or a third country.

The local authorities are appealing to the citizens to be vaccinated and not to choose vaccines, and they are also asking everyone who has been immunized abroad to register with the local Institute in order to have a better insight into the percentage of those immunized in Sarajevo Canton.

So far, citizens have been immunized with Pfizer / BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines.

The vaccination process in our country is going on with countless problems, and citizens had to go to neighboring countries because of the saving dose.

“During the past day, 1,258 people were vaccinated in Zetra, and today, according to the plan of the KS Health Insurance Institute, the immunization of citizens and oncology patients is planned to continue,” the KS Public Health Institute announced today.
Citizens are asked to respect the terms they were given for vaccination.

As it was said, today, citizens are immunized with the AstraZeneca vaccine.
