The total export of weapons and ammunition from Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2025 reached 476 million BAM, about 16 percent higher than in 2024.
In addition to weapons and ammunition, Bosnia and Herzegovina exported an additional 141 million BAM worth of related products in 2025, which are recorded separately for statistical purposes.
BiznisInfo.ba is now collecting data on the operation of the largest defense industry companies in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the previous year.
Pretis – Stabilization of Performance
In 2025, Pretis reported revenues of 151.9 million BAM, expenses of 141.2 million BAM, a profit of 10.7 million BAM, and a total result of 15.9 million BAM. This suggests that the new management, at least according to the latest data, managed to stabilize the company’s business operations.
According to revised data for the previous year, Pretis in 2024 reported revenues of 129.2 million BAM, expenses of 162 million BAM, and a financial loss of about 32.9 million BAM.
The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the majority owner of Pretis with 51 percent, while the Sikto company, backed by U.S.-based Regulus Global, holds about 41 percent of shares.
Relations between the two major shareholders are strained, and recently mutual accusations have been exchanged. The same company owns one-fourth of Binas.
Igman – Revenue Increase but Significant Loss
Igman d.d. from Konjic ended the year with a loss of 15.3 million BAM, making it currently the largest loss-maker in the domestic defense industry.
But a positive thing is that total revenue increased to 193.7 million BAM from 177.7 million BAM the previous year. But, revenues had previously skyrocketed to 209.1 million BAM from 177.1 million BAM.
Igman faced numerous challenges, and last summer was forced to temporarily suspend production due to a ban on gunpowder exports from Serbia. However, the company secured new business in Iraq, which contributed to the increase in revenues.
The Management Board implemented a series of measures aimed at strengthening the company’s operational and financial sustainability.
Unis Ginex – Withstanding the Crisis
Revenues and profits at Unis Ginex from Goražde, one of the leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s defense industry, dropped significantly in the past year. Total revenue fell to 89.7 million BAM from the record 102 million BAM reached in 2024.
This decline was expected, given last year’s developments, particularly the new customs policy in the USA, which severely impacted Bosnia and Herzegovina’s defense industry. The company’s expenses increased slightly from 62.8 million to 63.2 million BAM.
The important point is that in the previous year, Ginex achieved a significant profit. The profit reached 24.3 million BAM, which is an excellent result for a challenging year, despite a decrease of about 11 million BAM compared to 2024, when income was 35.5 million BAM.
Binas – Highest Growth in the Sector
The Binas company from Bugojno continued to achieve excellent business results. Last year, the company increased its revenues to 63.8 million BAM, placing it among the leaders of the domestic defense industry.
In the previous year, revenues were 45.5 million BAM, representing an increase of approximately 50 percent in just one year. Looking further back, the company’s transformation becomes even more apparent. In 2021, Binas’s total revenues were 1.6 million BAM, and they have continued to grow steadily each year.
The income figures are equally impressive. Last year, the company’s revenues exceeded 15 million BAM, an increase of 150 percent compared to the previous year, when profit was 6 million BAM.
In 2021, Binas operated at a loss of about 6 million BAM, which further highlights the company’s transformation.
BNT-TMiH – A Path to Success
BNT-TMiH Company from Novi Travnik reported total revenues of 41.8 million BAM last year, continuing its growth from the previous year’s 34.7 million BAM. Expenses rose from 32.3 million BAM to 37.3 million BAM over the same period.
The company’s profit was 4.5 million BAM last year, up from 2.4 million BAM the year before.
According to announcements, this year’s revenues are expected to reach about 60 million BAM, classifying the company as one of the most successful and fastest-growing in the defense industry sector.
TRZ Hadžići – A Problematic Company
TRZ Hadžići, a troubled company in the domestic defense industry, doubled its revenues last year from 5.5 million BAM to 10.3 million BAM. However, the company recorded a loss of 1.6 million BAM, an improvement compared to the 2.2 million BAM loss in 2024.
The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the majority owner, along with other domestic defense industry companies, is working to stabilize the company’s operations as partners.
Pobjeda Technology – The Biggest Victim of US Tariffs
PTG (Pobjeda Technology) from Goražde, which specializes in ammunition manufacturing, is one of the biggest victims of the new US tariff policy.
For years, this company has recorded growth and increasingly positive results, ranking among the largest domestic defense industry companies. In 2025, PTG planned a significant breakthrough into the US market.
But, the US tariffs have severely affected exports and led to a decline in the company’s revenues. Total revenues of the PTG company last year reached 36.9 million BAM, which is a drastic decrease compared to 69.3 million BAM in 2024.
Expenses were also reduced, allowing the company to operate profitably and increase net profit to 2.29 million BAM, compared to 1.51 million BAM the previous year. Pobjeda Technology is a privately owned company.
Pobjeda-Rudet – Turkish Investors Running a Successful Business
Pobjeda-Rudet from Goražde, specializing in the manufacture of explosives, had revenues last year totaling 39.5 million BAM, about five million less than the previous year. The company’s profit was 2 million BAM, compared to 4.7 million BAM the year before.
This successful company is owned by investors from Turkey, who expanded their business in Goražde by acquiring another company, Tvornica alata (Tool Manufacturer).
AC-Unity – A New Success Story by Redžo Bekto
Another successful privately owned domestic company specializing in weapons manufacturing is AC-Unity Goražde. Redžo Bekto, the owner of the company, is a famous businessman from Goražde.
Last year, the company’s revenues reached 9.7 million BAM, an increase of one million compared to the previous year. Profit increased significantly to around 1.4 million BAM, up from 152,000 BAM in 2024. Among other products, the company manufactures the first domestic rifle.
