peace-event-SAPhoto Exhibition “Making Peace” opened today in Sarajevo, at the Olaba Mak Dizdar, on the occasion of marking 100 years since the outbreak of First World War and will remain open until 21 September.

The exhibition is opened by Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić, Secretary General of the International Peace Bureau Colin Archer, Director of Cooperation of Switzerland Embassy in B&H Joseph Guntern, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands Jurriaan Kraak, curator of the exhibition  Ashley and a representative of the City of Utrecht Hans Sakkers and B&H actress Vanesa Glođo, the ambassador of Making Peace project.

The exhibition is created by International Peace Bureau (IPB) with the aim of marking 100 years of receiving Nobel Peace Prize, in 1910.

”Making Peace ” is a photo exhibition which has already been set in Geneva, Stockholm, Utrecht and Strasbourg, and its goal is to teach the audience how to achieve “sustainable peace”.

The exhibition is divided into five sections, because IPB believes that there are five basic elements that together may affect the achievement of peace.

They consider that sustainable peace can only be achieved when each of these five elements is present.

Five elements that jointly lead to sustainable peace are disarmament and non-violence, conflict prevention and resolution, economic and social justice, human rights, rule of law and democracy and the environment and sustainable development.
