Plenkovic: The Expulsion of Croats from Serbia must stop

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia (RO) Andrej Plenković stated that the expulsions of Croats from Serbia are no longer isolated cases, but rather a “some kind of system” that must stop.

“Any internal political issues of Serbia should have no influence on Croatia or its citizens,” Plenković said after the Croatian embassy in Serbia was informed last week of the expulsion of three more Croatian citizens from that country.

Plenković said that so far 16 people have been expelled in this way, and 16 other Croatian citizens were not allowed to enter Serbia, reports Hina.

The Croatian Prime Minister emphasized that he expects this to stop and added that the European Commission also reacted because of this.

Plenković stated that expulsions are no longer about “isolated cases but some kind of system”.

He repeated that Croatia has “no influence on the internal political events in Serbia nor interferes in them”, and he called contrary claims ridiculous.
