ivo_pogorelicOne of the most significant pianists, Maestro Ivo Pogorelić will open the 20th edition of Sarajevo Music Evening (SVEM), with a recital tonight at National Theater.

This will be the first performance for Pogorelić in B&H in the last nine years, and he will present a repertoire consisting by art pieces of Frederic Chopin and Franz Liszt.

“Considering the fact that concerts of this great artists must be agreed two years in advance, we are extremely happy that the audience of SVEM will have the chance to listen and watch one of his rare performances in region”, commented Ninoslav Verber, Artistic Director of SVEM.

Ever since his debut performance at Carnegie Hall in New York in 1981, his performances are proclaimed triumphantly. He has performed in all major concert halls with prestigious symphony orchestras and philharmonic. Even after 30 years of his career, Pogorelić’s performances are equally exciting, and his albums are among the most frequently required when it comes to classical music.

He has published 15 albums for the publishing house Deutsche Grammophon, and the first album of 100.000 copies of the debut edition was sold out in just three days.
