The Federal Police Administration of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs will initiate the formation of a working group at the level of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) regarding the “Amber system” – a system for informing about missing children.

Police officers of the Federal Police Administration of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs spent the past week in the United States (U.S.) as part of a study visit.

The delegation of BiH consisted of representatives of the Ministry of Security of BiH, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska (RS), and the Brcko District Police.

The goal of the study visit was to learn about the functioning of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), the way the so-called “Amber System” was established, as well as how to react in situations of missing and kidnapped children, and how police officers react in situations of mass shootings in schools.

A series of working meetings were held with representatives of organizations supported by the Government of the U.S.; ICMEC (International Center for Missing and Exploited Children), NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children), FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency), IACP (International Association of Chiefs of Police), CARD (FBI Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team).

During their stay in the U.S., the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs delegation established contact with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia and the non-governmental organization of the Republic of Serbia “Amber Alert”, from which significant information was obtained regarding the establishment of the mentioned system, considering that the implementation of the project is in the final phase in the Republic of Serbia.

Federal Minister of Internal Affairs Ramo Isak and Director of the Federal Police Administration Vahidin Munjic announced that the Federal Police Administration of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs will fulfill its obligations in this matter and will initiate the establishment of an appropriate working group at the level of the Ministry of Security with the aim of establishing the “Amber system”, as well as making contact with the NCMEC organization in order to establish the part related to the “Amber System” and receiving so-called “reports” about child abuse in the digital environment to the Federal Police Administration, Klix.ba reports.
