Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović met with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bosnia and Herzegovina Thomas Fitchen, and on that occasion it was emphasized that the bilateral relations between the two countries are continuously on the rise, very good and friendly.

Very good cooperation was also highlighted on the international level, and that visits at the highest level are very important for intensifying cooperation.

In May of this year, Bećirović paid an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany and on that occasion he spoke with the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Olaf Scholz.

The member of the Presidency of BiH said that the Federal Republic of Germany is one of the most important foreign policy partners of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that it has proven itself many times to be a great friend of our country. He emphasized that the assistance that the Federal Republic of Germany, as the strongest economic power in the European Union, has provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina has contributed to important reform processes.

He thanked Bosnia and Herzegovina for its support in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, and emphasized that this support contributes to the implementation of necessary reforms in society, the improvement of infrastructure, the business environment, and the strengthening of democracy and the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He also pointed out the importance of the commitment and support of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Berlin Process, with the aim of accelerating the European integration of the Western Balkan countries, economic and infrastructural development, and improving regional cooperation.

Ambassador Fitchen emphasized that the Federal Republic of Germany will continue to support our country, and that it remains one of the main advocates of the EU and NATO path of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bećirović thanked the Federal Republic of Germany for its support in adopting the Resolution on the International Day of Commemoration and Remembrance of the Srebrenica Genocide in 1995.
