The delegation of the city of Sarajevo, headed by Mayor Abdulah Skaka, is currently paying a visit to the Vatican at the invitation of the Apostolic Nuncio in BiH, Luigi Pezzuto.

Besides the mayor, the delegation also includes the chairman of the City Council, Igor Gavric, deputy mayors Ivica Saric and Milan Trivic, and former mayor of Sarajevo, Ivo Komsic.

After a general audience, members of the delegation met with Pope Francis and thanked him for supporting the multiethnic way of life in Sarajevo and BiH. Pope Francis noted that this is the only and true way. He also emphasized that we are all brothers, that he is praying for us, and he invited us to pray for him as well, as announced by the City Administration of Sarajevo.

Pope Francis also said that we should continue preserving the multiculturalism and multiconfessionality of Sarajevo, for which the capital city of BiH has always been known.

Mayor Skaka is the first mayor of Sarajevo who visited the Pope in Vatican.
