Possibility of Cooperation Between Prijedor and German Cities

The Mayor of Prijedor Marko Pavić and the Ambassador of Germany to BiH Ulrike Maria Knotz spoke today in Prijedor on the possibility of economic cooperation of this city with German cities and missions that exist in BiH.

‘’We want to initiate contact as quickly as we can with representatives of the German embassy for economic relations in order to connect the Prijedor economy with German partners’’, said Pavić to journalists in Prijedor after the meeting with the German Ambassador to our country.

He recalled that Germany invested a lot in the return of people to Prijedor to their pre-war homes.

‘’There are still many of our citizens living in Germany, and among them many are involved in business. We want to offer Prijedor to them as a destination favorable for investment and to attract a part of our diaspora to invest in their city’’, said Pavić.

Ambassador Knotz said that she spoke with the mayor and with other representatives in Prijedor of what has already been achieved in this city, as well as the challenges that are still ahead.

‘’I am convinced of the numerous awards of different organizations that the mayor received for the duration of his mandate. When it comes to returnees, the German organization THV was very engaged in the construction of new homes, and today’s challenges are economic development, investment and the creation of new jobs’’, said Knotz.

She added that businesspeople are initiating direct contact with one another, and that after these kinds of discussions the Embassy can be a place where they will receive information that are of interest to them.
