Possibility of Cooperation of Turkey and Semberija

After today’s meeting with city officials of Bijeljina, ambassador of Turkey in BiH Ahmet Yıldız said that there is a great possibility of cooperation between Turkey, Semberija and Bijeljina.

Bijeljina is one of 12 municipalities in FBiH and RS which is included in the project ‘Turkey and BiH- Bridge of cultures and civilizations through the prism of economic cooperation in the context of the EU integrations’, which is financed by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey via the Embassy in Sarajevo.

The main goal of the project, which is realized by the European Movement in BiH, is the improvement of economic relations and contacts between Turkey and BiH, and presenting the two countries as the bridge of civilizations, cultures, religions of the peoples of the East and the West.

Turkish ambassador said that the region has great natural, business and intellectual resources which will Turkish Embassy, BIGMEV Fund and Turkish Ziraat Bank Bosnia present to potential partners in Turkey.

Turkish delegation visited the company ‘Sava’, which is one example of good privatisation.

Representatives of the company presented the production capacities of the company and they talked about export possibilities.

Turkish delegation attended the business conference which has the aim to establish business contacts between Semberija and Turkey.

During their visit to Bijeljina, Turkish delegation visited religious communities of the city – the Orthodox Church, Islamic Community and Atik Mosque.

They also plan to visit Janja, where they’ll have a discussion with citizens on topic ‘Turkey and BiH- Bridge of cultures and civilizations through the prism of economic cooperation in the context of the EU integrations’.
