KFFA film festival should be held in July next year in Bosanska Krajina. The idea is already born and a team of ambitious young people is being assembled. They should work devotedly on the project called “Krajina Film Festival”.

This is a high-budget project that should gather famous names from the world of film from BiH and the region, said a young director from Cazin who currently lives in Sarajevo, Haris Samardžić.

“At my initiative as the president of the Association of film workers of Bosanska Krajina, the story about Krajina Film Festival began. We presented the idea to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Una-Sana Canton. They gladly accepted it and decided to support the project,” said Samardžić.

Samardžić says that a film festival in Krajina should represent a true refreshment in the domain of culture for this BiH region.

“The festival is envisaged as a big and serious project that would consist of eight festival nights. Each night, a different feature film within the competition program would be screened. In addition to that, two short films would be screened every night. Also planned is musical stage, educational programs and workshops that would be run by big film names who visit the festival,” Samardžić says.

The project is currently in the stage of pre-production, since the team that should be working on the project and direct the festival is still being assembled.

“We still do not have a director because we are waiting for some other decisions to be made. So far, the team consists of young people who are willing to work on the project unconditionally,” Samardžić says.

The festival should be held from July 23 until July 30, 2017.
