The Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, met on Tuesday, at the headquarters of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, with the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, John Ginkel.

The meeting was also attended by the Federal Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees, Nerin Dizdar.

The interlocutors exchanged information on the continuation of the implementation of the Southern Gas Interconnection project. Progress was highlighted in conducting negotiations on the contract for the construction of this important strategic project, as well as the preparation of its signing ceremony, which should be held soon in Washington.

On this occasion, it was reiterated that this is a project that is of priority interest to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and our country, as well as the United States of America in this area.

“Nikšić and Ginkel expressed satisfaction with the good partnership between the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the USA, which is reflected in the implementation of this project, as well as the possibilities for improving cooperation on other important projects that are being implemented and planned in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.

The meeting reiterated the need to resolve the issue of the ban on the management of state property. It was noted that resolving this issue would unblock numerous strategic infrastructure projects in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as significant investments that would contribute to economic development and the standard of living of citizens.

The interlocutors agreed to continue to jointly invest efforts in activities to further improve cooperation, strengthen institutional ties, and develop partnerships between the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the United States of America.
