pravosu?e-1The BiH Minister of Justice Bariša Čolak and the Ukrainian Minister of Justice Oleksandr Lavrynovych signed yesterday in Sarajevo a protocol on cooperation between the two ministries in the area of justice.

This document opened cooperation for many issues in the area of justice, all in the goal of a more efficient fight against various forms of international crime.

Minister Bariša Čolak hopes that representatives of the two countries will soon have the opportunity to agree, and then sign a very important agreement between the two countries that would resolve the issue of legal aid in civil and criminal matters, extradition, and all issues that relate to legal aid.

“The goal is to better and more effectively combat organized crime, corruption, money laundering, terrorism and other areas of crime. In today’s world, it is not possible for the state itself to solve these problems, so cooperation must expand’’, thinks Bariša Čolak.

Minister Lavrynovych said that this protocol enables cooperation between the two countries in the framework of European integration, but also the wider international cooperation in order to jointly meet the challenges of the international community today.

He underlined that BiH and Ukraine are going towards the same goal, to become members of the European community.

“In Ukraine, we are faced with terrorist attacks that are occurring throughout the world, and we know well enough the evils of drugs. Before, we did not know what corruption looks like, and now we do and this is an international evil. On all these issues, we have to cooperation, and success depends on united efforts of every country’’, said the Ukrainian Minister of Justice.

He concluded that today’s signed document enables the exchange of information and mutual consultations on various issues of justice.
