Qatar Airways re-establishes flights from Doha to Sarajevo International Airport on June 3rd, 2022, enabling Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to reconnect with the world.

Flights to the capital of BiH will be conducted three times a week, on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays with a flight lasting only six hours. Flights to the destination will be operated by Airbus A320 with 12 seats in business class and 132 seats in economy class.

The re-establishment of flights, which originally began in 2017, means passengers can now enjoy connectivity with more than 140 destinations within an extensive global network through the world’s best airport, Hamad International Airport, which includes destinations across Asia, Africa, North America, and Australia.

It is important to mention that Qatar’s national airline is oriented towards Eastern Europe with the re-establishment of flights to Sarajevo, which further supports global connectivity.

Qatar Airways Regional Representative for Southern Europe Mate Hoffmann expressed satisfaction that they are re-establishing flights to Sarajevo.

”As the capital of BiH, Sarajevo is a favorite entrance to the country for business and private travel throughout our network. With three flights a week, passengers from Sarajevo are connected to more than 140 destinations, via the most modern main hub in Doha,” Hoffmann stated.

The director of the Sarajevo International Airport, Alan Bajic, said that the airline Qatar Airways is establishing flights from Sarajevo to Doha after a two-year break due to the coronavirus pandemic.

”This extremely important airline will enable the citizens of Qatar to discover the rich tourist offer of Sarajevo and BiH, and our fellow citizens to visit Qatar and other distant destinations, traveling through one of the largest major hubs in the world,”Bajic said.

Qatar Airways Cargo will re-establish its passenger-cargo service to Sarajevo, supporting local trade growth with exports of agricultural and food products, furniture, clothing, textiles, and automotive parts, as well as imports of consumer goods and electrical equipment. The cargo carrier will be able to transport more than five tons of cargo in both directions three times a week on flights with the Airbus A320, the Sarajevo International Airport announced.
