ramljakYesterday in Sarajevo was held a meeting on the topic of Agrokor and the impact of the situation in this Group on business operations in BiH. The meeting was attended by the commissioner of the Government of Croatia for Agrokor Ante Ramljak, Deputy Minister of Economy of Croatia Zvonimir Novak and the delegation of BiH led by Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic.

It was concluded that they will do everything in order to preserve 5,200 workplaces and in order for the crisis in Croatia not to transfer to BiH and other countries in the region.

“In my opening speech, when I was appointed as the commissioner, I said that this is a battle with time, the battle for the employees, suppliers and their employees, and that battle is still ongoing. I do not want to spread false optimism and I cannot say at this point that the situation has changed. This situation has not spilled to regional countries, but we have to deal with the original problem in Croatia. Our customers and our clients have more employees besides those 5200 and I want to say that we will do everything we can in order to prevent a reduction in the number of employees and to keep workplaces. We will pay our bills on time, then we will make an effort to meet other needs as well,” concluded Ramljak.

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic said that this was the first in a series of meetings that will be held due to the plan of restructuring of Agrokor.

He added that the action plan will include the way of restructuring and preventing impact on companies that operate within Agrokor on the territory of BiH and that they agreed with Ramljak that this plan will be patented in the next 15 days.

“We are very interested in the preservation of existing workplaces. That is a total of 5,200 employees and we opened the topic of not taking any measures that would mean drawing of capital to repair central in Croatia. We will make sure that this does not happen. We in BiH believe that any repair of Agrokor can not go at the expense of local companies in BiH,” said Zvizdic.

Director of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) BiH Miro Dzakula said that Konzum operates under the laws of BiH and properly settle their tax and customs obligations in all previous inspections and payments.
