The Embassy of Pakistan in Sarajevo organized a solemn reception on the occasion of the National Day of Pakistan on March 23.

Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to BiH, Salim Nawaz, thanked everyone who attended the celebration of the 78th National Day of Pakistan in Sarajevo. He noted that he feels privileged for having the opportunity to celebrate that day with the great people of this country and representatives of the international diplomatic community.

He also added that Pakistan is trying to improve relations with its neighbouring countries with some serious efforts and that this country supports all efforts invested for peace, prosperity and stability in Afghanistan, in order to bring it closer to that goal.

He stated that relations between Pakistan and BiH are great, i.e. brotherly relations, and they are reflected in a great mutual affection of both sides.

“I would like to use this opportunity to confirm Pakistan’s honest desire for further strengthening and expansion of already existing relations in all areas of mutual interest to the leadership and people of BiH. On behalf of my country, I would like to congratulate BiH on successfully completed and submitted answers to the Questionnaire of the European Commission. We wish you all the success in that aspect,” noted Ambassador Nawaz.

He stated that thanks to its potential, as well as very important geostrategic position, Pakistan has a very important role in its region, as well as in the entire world.

He believes that Pakistan is well aware of this fact, and that it is successfully performing its role, which is why it was forced to endure some unimaginable sacrifices. However, despite numerous challenges, Pakistan is firmly moving forward to peace and progress.

“The security situation in Pakistan is much better now than it used to be just a couple of years ago. One of the reasons for that is the fact that Pakistan demonstrated that it will not tolerate terrorism and that the nation is firmly determined to completely eradicate it. Thus, the amount of foreign investment was largely increased, which clearly demonstrates the confidence of investors in our economic security and foreign policy. We, as a nation, are firmly dedicated to peace, progress and prosperity of Pakistan, as well as the rest of the world,” concluded Nawaz.
