Bascarsija Square Reconstruction Course faktor.baWorks on the reconstruction of Bascarsija Square, which began on September 2, are taking being conducted according to the planned timetable.
This week, works have started on the setting of stone slabs in the lower part of Bascarsija Square, where a reinforced concrete slab was poured last weekend.
“In the upper part of the square it is still being worked on connecting the surrounding facilities to the main utility networks”, it was stated from the contractor company “Neimari”.
Workers are hastily setting the stone slabs in order to enable unhindered movement of passers-by across one part of the square. Completion of all works is expected in early December, and the project worth around 1.2 million BAM is funded by the Municipality Stari Grad Sarajevo and its fraternal Municipality Osman Gazi (Bursa) from the Republic of Turkey.
