Record Number of Tourists in Sarajevo Canton in April

Tourists in April tv1.baIn April, 30.762 tourists visited the Canton of Sarajevo, which is 7.7 percent more than in April last year.

Tourists accounted for 59.308 overnight stays, which is 12.2 percent more compared to the same period in 2014. Of total tourist arrivals, 86.2 percent represented foreign tourists, and 13.8 percent were domestic tourists.

The largest number of foreign tourists came from Turkey (18.3 percent), Croatia (14.0 percent), Slovenia (7.7 percent), South Korea (6.3 percent) and Germany (4.5 percent).

In the total number of overnight stays, foreign tourists represented 88.5 percent, while the domestic tourists accounted for 11.5 percent.

In the structure of overnight stays of foreign tourist, the most overnight stays were by tourists from Turkey (18.1 percent), Croatia (12.2 percent), Slovenia (7.1 percent), Germany (5.3 percent) and Italy (4.4 percent).

turisti5The average stay of tourists in April 2015 amounted to 1.8 nights, according to data from the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board.

Tourists from the following countries stayed the most nights: Kuwait 4.6; United Arab Emirates 4.5; Qatar 3.5; Malta 3.1; France 2.6 etc.

In March 2015, the Canton of Sarajevo was visited by tourists from 99 countries.

Utilization of accommodation facilities was 48.2 percent in terms of room occupancy, or 22.5 percent in terms of occupancy of beds.
