Narodna skupstina faktor.baPresident of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Nedeljko Čubrilović said that there is a theoretical possibility for cancellation of the referendum on the Day of Republika Srpska if the Constitutional Court of BiH accepts the appeal of the National Assembly of RS.

Čubrilović stated that he expects the Constitutional Court of BiH to reach a decision on the request by the National Assembly of RS on reconsideration of the previously reached decision on the unconstitutionality of January 9.

When asked whether there is theoretical possibility for cancellation of referendum, Čubrilović answered: “Of course, if the court accepts the appeal by the National Assembly of RS”.

At today’s plenary session, the Constitutional Court of BiH will consider the request by the National Assembly of RS for reconsideration of the decision reached on November 16 last year regarding the celebration of the Day of Republika Srpska, January 9.

Referendum is scheduled for September 25.
