The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), at the proposal of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, has adopted the Regulation on the price of vehicle documents and the price of vehicle marking.
The Regulation defines the amount of fees for registering oldtimer vehicles and using portable registration plates, which has not been regulated before and has caused issues for individuals and legal entities.
The fee for issuing and using a portable registration plate, as well as for registration plates for oldtimer vehicles, is 20 BAM.
Other fees remain at the 2009 level, and start at 5 BAM for issuing certificates of vehicle ownership and registration and for issuing and using vehicle marking – stickers, as well as for registration plates for test driving, while the fee for the issuance of a booklet confirming the use of portable plates is 10 BAM.
The fee for issuing a registration plate for a motor vehicle is 20 BAM, while the fee for registration plates for a trailer, motorcycle, and motorized bicycle is 10 BAM.
Fees for registration plates for diplomatic-consular vehicles, missions, and international organizations in BiH remain at the same level of 30 BAM, as well as for registration plates for temporarily registered vehicles, which is 50 BAM.
The amount of the fee for issuing all these markings in case of loss, theft, destruction, or damage to such an extent that they can no longer serve their purpose is identical to the fee for their issuance.
Monetary fees are paid into the Single Treasury Account of BiH. Of the total funds collected, 30 percent represent revenue for the budgets of BiH institutions, while 70 percent belongs to the competent authorities for motor vehicle registration.
The Regulation enters into force on the eighth day from the date of publication in the Official Gazette of BiH, when the previous Regulation on the price of vehicle registration documents and fees for the use of registration plates (“Official Gazette of BiH”, number 76/09) ceases to be valid.
