Director and deputy director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) Darko Ćulum and Đuro Knežević today received representatives of the United States Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nicholas Pietrowicz, the regional security officer of the United States Embassy with associates as well as representatives of the ATA Counter-Terrorism Assistance Program Lee Lerussi and Victor Loyd.

The Embassy of the United States of America presented, within the framework of the ATA program of assistance in the fight against terrorism, $ 186,000 of computer software and equipment to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA).

This equipment consists of forensic software, computer workstations, field laptop computers, automated data seizure and imaging devices, evidence collection tools, and other instruments.

This U.S. government donation will improve the capacity of SIPA’s Digital Forensic Unit and Counter Terrorism Unit to rapidly extract and analyze data from electronic devices, mobile devices, and computers anywhere in BiH.

“The Director of SIPA thanked the Embassy for the valuable donation and previous support of the United States of America in strengthening SIPA’s human and material-technical capacities, as well as cooperation in the field of law enforcement. The participants of the meeting expressed their willingness and determination to continue cooperation,” SIPA announced.
