The Government of Republika Srpska (RS) has issued a statement following the attempted arrest of the entity Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic in Brcko. They state that this is yet another attempt to transfer the current political crisis into the security sphere, it was announced by the Public Relations Bureau of the RS Government. The Prime Minister’s security detail acted professionally and responsibly and in accordance with regulations, the statement says.

The Brcko police attempted to arrest Viskovic on Friday evening. The police had received a tip-off about his passage through Brcko. However, Viskovic was not in the convoy of vehicles. There are suspicions that he altered his route to avoid the planned operation.

It should be mentioned that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina(BiH) has issued a central arrest warrant for Viskovic, as well as for Milorad Dodik and Nenad Stevandic, because they failed to respond to a summons from the Prosecutor’s Office of BiHregarding attacks on the constitutional order of BiH.
