United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio has commented on the latest moves by Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, stressing that they pose a threat to the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The actions of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik undermine the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and threaten its security and stability. Our nation encourages political leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina to engage in constructive and responsible dialogue. We call on our partners in the region to join us in opposing this dangerous and destabilizing behavior,” Rubio said.

Earlier, Republican US House of Representatives member Ann Wagner also warned about Dodik’s actions, stressing that he must be stopped.

“Dodik is a brutal criminal who has led a campaign to destabilize Bosnia and Herzegovina. His reckless actions are a dangerous escalation and a flagrant disregard for the judicial process. This must not stand, and Dodika must be stopped before he continues his corrupt agenda,” Wagner stressed.

She added that she is in constant contact with the US State Department and colleagues in Congress, where they are discussing how the administration can counter, as she stated, Dodik’s obvious attempt to disrupt peace in the region.

Recall that a few days ago, the President of Republika Srpska Milorad signed decrees in Banja Luka on the promulgation of laws prohibiting the activities of the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), and the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH (HJPC) on the territory of this entity.

These laws were adopted on February 27 by the National Assembly of the RS at a special session, and after signing the decree, they were published in the Official Gazette of the Republika Srpska. Acting Director of the Official Gazette of the RS Miloš Lukić confirmed that the laws on the HJPC of the RS, the law on the non-application of laws and the prohibition of the activities of extra-constitutional institutions of BiH, the law on a special register and the publicity of the work of non-profit organizations, as well as the law amending the Criminal Code of the Republika Srpska, have been published.

Yesterday, the Constitutional Court of BiH put the laws temporarily out of force, Klix.ba writes.
