13702341_1798381633731846_1217142747_oAfter the political conditionalities, today in Sarajevo was initialed adapted Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA). The Stabilization and Association Agreement was initialed between the European Community and its Member States on the one side, and BiH on the side hand, while taking into account the Croatian accession to the EU. The agreement was initialed by the head of the negotiating team of BiH, Hamdo Tinjak and Head of the EU Delegation to BiH and EU Special Representative in BiH, Lars-Gunnar Wigemark.

Lars-Gunnar Wigemark emphasized that a standard procedure would be 6 months, and the procedure of ratification of the SAA can come into force only when this is completed.

“What is an integral part of this protocol is gradual approach in the three-year period, thus the upcoming weeks and months should be used for the study with which will be predicted any possible damages. One of instantaneous activities after the protocol comes into force is to activate autonomous economic measures. This blockade will immediately bring benefits for fruit and vegetable producers who are suffering the consequences of January. Moreover, there is a lot of questions in agriculture that have very little to do with the SAA, almost nothing,” said Lars-Gunnar Wigemark and emphasized that the coordination mechanism must be established in order to start with agricultural strategy.

Hamdo Tinjak emphasized that every ordinary citizen should be happy because the European perspective is opening to them.

Mirko Sarovic, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, talked about the assistance that was promised by Germany and clearly underlined that this assistance will not have a social character.

“It will not be that kind of support. This is the process by which we can define sectors that will be most affected, due to entering of duty free goods in the field of industrial milk and dairy products in particular as well as meat and meat products. These are the most sensitive sectors and the experts will make a specific assessment of the work that will be done on specific projects to help these sectors to be more competitive,” stated Sarovic.
