Safety on higher Level: “School Policeman’ in every schoolyard

New_vehicles_for_police“Association of Parents of minor children in B&H” are urging to hire a police officer on duty in every schoolyard at the time of a school day, as long as the children are at school.

The question of safety of school children was raised. Research has shown that teachers, parents and children trust the most to the “school policeman” and, therefore, there should be one police officer in every schoolyard.

Even though ‘school policeman’ cannot guarantee complete safety, the parents of most of the school children say that his presence is enough.

There are two possibilities. One possibility is to hire retired officers and the other is to announce a public competition that would invite the younger people who have just finished high school, and who would pass the police training. Advantage of the second idea is that because of their age, problems of school children would be closer to this group.

The new “school policeman” would be additionally trained for work with children, and their main task would be to gain the trust of school children, and also to act preventively with their authority and behavior.

This would prevent any possible accidents or any attempt of intrusions in school. This idea is the necessity, because we are witnessing the fact that more and more children are suffering in B&H as well as abroad, as announced from the Association of Parents of minor children in B&H.
