Sarajevo Days of Poetry finished, Bosnian Tombstone for Lars Gustafsson

awardWith the ceremony in the assembly hall of the City Hall and handing over the literary award “Bosanski stecak” (Bosnian tombstone), this year’s 54th edition of the International literary event Sarajevo Days of Poetry was officially closed.

This prestigious award was given to Swede Lars Gustafsson, a writer and philosopher, a man of exceptional creative work and one of the most outstanding representatives of modern literary scene, who was nominated for the Nobel Prize and won numerous awards and high honors for his extraordinary contribution to the arts and culture.

Vice President of the Writers’ Association of B&H Edin Konjhodzic handed over the award “Bosanski stecak,” which was received by Christina Bergman on behalf of the Embassy of Sweden to B&H and in the name of the laureate, expressing gratitude for this award which went to Lars Gustafsson this year, who is known far beyond the borders of his country.
