With the premiere of the movie ”Episode in the Life of An Iron Picker” by B&H Director Danis Tanović in the National Theatre, the 19th annual Sarajevo Film Festival will officially open. The capital city of B&H will once again become a center of film in this part of Europe.
The official opening of the SFF will be held in the National Theatre, and after the screening of the movie at the house on Obala, a double winner at Berlinale (Silver Bear for Best Actor and the movie), the public will get to see the film at the summe cinema !hej.
The official part of the first night of the festival will consist of a reception in Hotel Europe.
The most important film festival in the region will offer this year as well a multitude of quality movies, and movie stars will walk the red carpet in front of the National Theatre, as well as some of the most imporant filmmakers from around the world.
The 19th Sarajevo Film Festival this year brings 241 achievements from all corners of the world in 12 sections. The main part of the Festival this year as well is the competition program for feature, short and documentary films.
The best films, mostly by young artists from the region, will fight for the favor of the jury and the prestigous Heart of Sarajevo, and 15 films from these 3 programs will have their own world premiere.
In addition to the movies, there will be many other programs in which the audience can meet and speak with guests of the festival.
All festival locations are ready for the arrival of artists and guests, as well as a large number of accredited media from B&H and the world.
