The Sarajevo International Airport serviced a total of 767,133 passengers in 2021, which is 517,491 passengers or 207.29 percent more than in the previous year.

Compared to 2019, the year before the pandemic, passenger traffic was down 33 percent or 376,547 fewer passengers.

“According to Eurocontrol, the recovery of air traffic in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been far above the European average and the country should reach the number of passengers before the pandemic this year, while major European markets expect the number of passengers from 2019 to be reached in 2025,” reported flyingbosnian.blogspot.

The Sarajevo International Airport registered 70,230 passengers last month, the busiest December ever.

The airport had an increase of 425 percent or 56,833 passengers more compared to the same month in 2020, and 22 percent or 12,482 passengers more compared to December 2019.

In December last year, the Sarajevo Airport had 1,083 operations, while the cargo department registered a record 767,134 kilograms of shipped cargo.
