A Ryanair plane carrying 55 passengers from Girona landed at Sarajevo International Airport this morning at 08:45 local time, connecting Sarajevo with Spain for the first time on a direct flight.

After the plane landed, a traditional water salute was held and the passengers were presented with special gifts provided by the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board.

The delegation from Spain, consisting of the President of the Girona Province, Miquel Noguer, the Director of the Airport of Catalonia, Jordi Candela Garriga, and the President of the Girona Tourist Board, Jaume Dulsat, were welcomed at Sarajevo International Airport by the Mayor of the City of Sarajevo, Predrag Puharić, as well as the Sarajevo Airport Management.

The establishment of another airline from the list of strategic destinations confirms the successful cooperation between Sarajevo International Airport, the Ministry of Economy of the Sarajevo Canton, and the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board. This cooperation continuously achieves results in the growth of tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and also contributes to strengthening the economy of our region.

The delegation from Spain will stay in Sarajevo for two days, where they will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the beauties of Sarajevo, its culture and tradition, and hold a series of meetings with government representatives.

On this occasion, a press conference has been scheduled for April 3 at 11:00 a.m. at the City Hall, Sarajevo International Airport announced.
