Sarajevo Municipal Court confirmed the Indictment against the Old Town Mayor

The Municipal Court in Sarajevo confirmed the indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Canton of Sarajevo against the head of the Municipality of Old Town, Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, for the criminal offense of violation of rights in the employment relationship.

Hadžibajrić is accused of illegally firing six civil servants and employees in the Old Town Municipality from March 2020 to March 2021.

For the main hearing, the acting prosecutor proposed to the court the hearing of 26 witnesses, medical experts and the presentation of more than 200 material pieces of evidence.

Let us remind you that acting prosecutors of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office and the Canton Sarajevo Prosecutor’s Office, together with the police officers of the Criminal Police Sector and the Police Support Sector of the CS Ministry of Interior Police Administration in the field, have been conducting the operation codenamed “Start” since this morning.

As announced by the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, the activities are carried out in coordination with EUROPOL, and relate to criminal offenses of organized crime and money laundering, as well as corrupt criminal offenses of abuse of position or authority and receiving and giving gifts.

Action “Start” refers to more than 10 natural and legal persons, who are suspected of organized crime and abuses in multi-million amounts, and the activities are carried out in more than 20 locations.
