Yesterday, the recording of the Turkish mini-series “Alija”, on the life of the first president of RBiH Alija Izetbegovic, was continued in the Sarajevo City Hall.

This series is recorded by the Turkish production company Sancak Medya for Turkish national television TRT on various locations in BiH since early August, and it is directed by BH Director Ahmed Imamovic.

The famous Turkish actor, Yurdaer Okur, who interprets the character of Alija Izetbegovic in the series, said that it is very important for the whole team to record this project in BiH, because, as he said, what really makes a film is the atmosphere.

He added that BiH is a country that has its own atmosphere and nature, whose streets have their souls.

“I need to say that I am extremely happy and honored by the fact that I got the opportunity to play a role like this,” said Okur.

When asked about the preparations for Alija Izetbegovic’s role, Okur said that he read the works of Izetbegovic that are translated into the Turkish language and that he also watched documentary videos.

“I talked to his family, and with his daughter. I’ve been watching his photos a lot. I visited the Tunnel of Hope,” stated Okur.

Turkish actor added in the end that he believes that interest for the character and work of Alija Izetbegovic will be increased after this project. As he said, the series may help to get to know him to a certain extent, but in order to get to know him better, a person needs to read his works.
