SDP, Nasa stranka, and the “Drzava” Coalition: The NARS Session is an Attack on BiH’s Sovereignty

Representatives of Nasa stranka (Our Party), the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and the newly formed coalition “Drzava” (”State”) made separate statements on the occasion of holding a special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NARS) on the transfer of competencies and stressed that the events in the NARS were an attack on the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

The SDP BiH stated that the special session of the NARS represents the systematic destruction of the constitutional order of the state and the open violation of the Dayton Agreement.

It was also emphasized that the SDP expects an immediate reaction from international institutions.

“SDP BiH expects an urgent reaction from international institutions to sanction those responsible and suppress the threat to the sovereignty of BiH from the ruling political circles in the BiH administrative unit RS. Any further postponement of sanctions against those responsible for the adventure that is endangering peace and stability of our region represents the process of buying time for those who are ready to fight to protect their suspiciously acquired empire over the backs of their disempowered fellow citizens, “ the SDP said.

Nasa stranka officials stressed that the overthrow of BiH will end in the overthrow of Milorad Dodik.

“Today’s session of the NARS showed all the destructiveness of Milorad Dodik’s policy. The destructiveness was especially shown by the fact that today’s session banned the address of the Office of the High Representative (OHR) representative. This must be understood as closing the door to the entire international community and refusing to resolve the crisis through diplomatic means. Dodik speaks the language of one-sidedness, disrespect for others, the language of force. This is a sign that he can only understand such a language so it should be answered to him in such a way. Such a language must be used because of the proposed conclusions that are unconstitutional, “ it was stated yesterday by Nasa stranka.

Officials of Nasa stranka also emphasized that the citizens of RS will suffer the most because of this whole situation.

“We expect such a response from the international community, and the frequent appearances of its representatives are encouraging, showing the intentions for his sanctioning and even dismissal. We feel sorry for the citizens of RS because the sanctions Dodik calls for will destroy the economic and every other possibility of life in that area. In that way, Dodik’s destructiveness towards BiH will prove to be self-destructive towards himself, but also towards the RS,” Nasa strankaconcluded.

The newly formed coalition “Drzava“, which consists of the Independent Bloc (Nezavisni blok), the Platform for Progress (Platforma za progres), and several smaller parties, stressed that the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH must react to the activities taking place in RS.

“Organizing and planning the undermining of the Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH), unconstitutional and illegal seizure of competencies of state institutions through secret and public activities of lower authorities, are sufficient reasons for urgent and concrete action of the judicial authorities of BiH. This coalition Calls on the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, as well as the security authorities, to professionally, responsibly, and efficiently ensure the implementation of applicable laws of BiH, and that any violation of the Criminal Code by any individual be timely and equally sanctioned regardless of political, party, or professional functions, “ it was emphasized from the coalition “Drzava“.
