Searches at 20 Locations in Zenica, suspects are Police Officers

Sixteen police officers from the Kakanj Police Station and three other people who are not police officers were placed under the supervision of members of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, as part of the action in the fight against organized crime and corruption, codenamed “Target 2”, which has been carried out since in the early hours of the morning – confirmed Feni, the spokesperson of the Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Zenica Doboj Canton Elvedin Fišek.

The action is the result of several months of operational activities of the police officers of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Interior of the ZDC.

“The action covers 20 people, one of whom, who is not a police officer, is currently not available to us. The remaining 19 persons, 16 of whom are police officers, are under the supervision of our officers and searches are currently being conducted at twenty locations, the aim of which is to find and confiscate items that will be used as evidence in criminal proceedings against the twenty persons who are the target of this action. Searches are being made of residential buildings, cars, and the space they used in the Kakanj Police Station,” pointed out Fišek.

All persons who are the target of this action are suspected of committing the criminal offenses of “association for the purpose of committing criminal offenses” in connection with the criminal offenses of “abuse of official position or authority” and the criminal offenses of “accepting a gift and other forms of benefit”, “divulging an official secret”, “unauthorized production and distribution of narcotic drugs” and “serious theft”.

The action and searches are carried out according to the orders of the municipal courts in Zenica and Kakanj, and the police teams operate in cooperation and under the supervision of the ZDC Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office and in coordination with the police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA).

At the end of the search, the arrested will be taken to the ZDC MoI Police Directorate for further criminal processing, and after that, along with the reports, to the ZDC Prosecutor’s Office.
