Avant-garde artist and singer Aleksandra Sladjana Milosevic passed away yesterday at the age of 69, her friend Biljana Petrovic confirmed.

Milosevic died at Zemun Hospital after a brief illness, and the date and time of the funeral will be announced later.

Aleksandra Sladjana Milosevic was born in Belgrade on October 3rd, 1955, and was considered an icon of the new wave in the 1980s in Yugoslavia.

She emerged on the Yugoslav pop-rock scene in 1977 with the song “Au, Au,” and the same year, she had her first major performance at the Belgrade Concert near Hajducka cesma, where she performed before Bijelo Dugme.

According to many music experts, Sladjana sang the most beautiful duet in Yugoslavia. With the song “Princeza” (Princess) performed with Dado Topic, she ensured that her work and artistic legacy remain forever in these regions, N1 writes.
