Significant Decrease in Amount of Petroleum Products imported to Bosnia

In the territory of the Federation of BiH (FBiH), 1,042,264 tons of petroleum products were imported last year, which is about 15.38% less than in 2019, when 1,231,692 tons were imported. According to the data of the Federal Ministry of Trade, out of the total imported quantity of oil and oil derivatives last year, certain quantities were placed outside FBiH, Nezavisne writes.

Most petroleum products were imported from Croatia – 568,913 tons or 54.59%, followed by Serbia with 219,615 tons or 21.07%, and Italy with 196,203 tons or 18.82%.

According to the type of derivatives, 419,277 tons of Eurodiesel were imported, 74,259 tons of BMB-95 gasoline, and 9,940 tons of BMB-98, and 19,849 tons of extra light heating oil and 42,152 tons of liquefied petroleum gas and 10,175 tons of fuel oil were imported. A total of 54,438 tons of petroleum products were procured from suppliers from Republika Srpska last year, while in 2019, 30,796 tons were procured. Most oil derivatives were procured from the Optima Group from Banja Luka, 38,096 tons, while other quantities of oil derivatives were procured from Petrol from Šamac, Super Petrol from Banja Luka, and Oda Petrol from Doboj. The largest importers of petroleum products in the FBiH are the Sarajevo companies Holdina, G-petrol and Petrol BH oil, and Hifa from Tešanj.
