European Union (EU) Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Albania tomorrow, on February 18th, to discuss co-operation in the field of migration and migration management systems in these countries, as was announced in Brussels.

The announcement says that during her visit to BiH, Johansson should meet with members of the Presidency of BiH, the Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers, the Minister of Security, the Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton, and the Mayor of Bihac.

“She will visit Lipa camp together with representatives of the BiH Ministry of Security, the International Organization for Migration, United Nations (UN) agencies and partners,” it was added in the statement.

The statement reminds that about 8.000 migrants and refugees entered BiH and that about 6.000 people live in facilities in Sarajevo and the Una-Sana Canton, which are financed by the EU, and also that the Union supported the establishment of a temporary settlement in Lipa in December, with enabling warm clothing, blankets, food, and medical support.
