Sarajevo International AirportThis week, at the Sarajevo International Airport, a simulation of the plane hijacking was carried out. The goal of the exercise was to assess the efficiency of the procedures in emergency situations at the airport.

Several issues are checked by doing a simulation, namely, how the system works and connectivity and willingness of national and international institutions to deal with these circumstances. The simulation was rated successful and coordination and cooperation between participants were rated with the highest marks.

Armin Kajmaković, director of the Sarajevo International Airport, expressed the hope that the actual application of these activities will not take place in the future, and he highlighted the satisfaction that the international airport has responded to simulation in the best way possible.

With a staff of Sarajevo International Airport, the exercise was attended by representatives of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), Border Police, BHANSA-e, the Service for immediate medical help and a fire brigade Sarajevo Airport.
