SIPA Members carried out Raid in Temporary Reception Center, confiscated Weapons, Drugs

Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) are today in cooperation with police officers of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies in BiH, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, and the Service for Affairs with Foreigners of BiH and the Intelligence and Security Agency of BiH carried out a joint criminal-tactical action of raids that was carried out in the wider area of the Temporary Reception Center Blažuj.

Two persons, originally from Libya and Morocco, were deprived of their liberty due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they had committed the criminal offense of “possession and facilitating the consumption of narcotic drugs”. The persons deprived of liberty were taken to the premises of SIPA, where they are undergoing criminal processing and questioning as suspects.

The Service for Affairs with Foreigners of Bosnia and Herzegovina, taking measures and actions within its competence, temporarily detained 21 persons originating from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Morocco, and after the implementation of measures and actions within the competence of the service, 17 persons were found to be illegally staying on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Herzegovina, and can be linked to people smuggling and other illegal activities, which is why expulsion measures were imposed on them from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The aforementioned persons were placed in the Immigration Center in East Sarajevo, with the aim of removing them from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The raid was carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Sarajevo Canton, in which a temporary restriction of freedom of movement within the center was carried out, an inspection of persons, things and premises was carried out with the aim of finding persons who are staying there illegally, as well as finding illegal weapons, narcotics, and other items. which originate from criminal offenses or can be used to endanger the safety of users and employees of the center, and the identification of the organizers of criminal offenses “organizing a group or association to commit the criminal offense of migrant smuggling” and the criminal offense of “human smuggling”, as well as other criminal offences, they stated from SIPAs.

During the raid, items were discovered and temporarily confiscated that can serve as evidence that the aforementioned crimes were committed, namely cold weapons, as well as the narcotic drugs heroin and marijuana.
